Sloe Jim Fizz

Biography: Rising from the ashes of numerous local musical acts, the “Sloe Jim” Fizz are bringing back the power trio format with a vengeance in new and interesting ways. They can smoothly and efficiently perform many styles of music; from rock to reggae, from country to funk, from blues to pop. Although having only been together formally since February 2006, they already have a working gig list of approximately 100 songs in the various aforementioned genres! “Sloe Jim” Matteo (Guitars, Lead Vocals) is one of the areas more prominent and popular musicians performing solo and duo acoustic music, playing with local bands, as well as providing DJ services. The “Sloe Jim” Fizz project grew from the latest version of the Double Edge duo with local veteran Eric Eisenberg (Drums, Backing Vocals) when they decided to take their music to next step. Mike Riedel (Bass, Backing Vocals), who had been with “Sloe Jim” in too many bands too many years ago, was enlisted and the Fizz was born. Do not let the slow in “Sloe Jim” Fizz cause any confusion, anything is possible at one of their shows. Acoustic and electric music presented with superior vocals, and proficient musical ability, combined with an upbeat attitude ensures that a good time will be had by all. The band can also provide their own sound system and lighting, along with technical support, for almost any size show; from a small bar to a rental hall or even an outdoor event. Currently the band is seeking bookings within the Maryland Mid-Atlantic Region, more specifically the Greater Baltimore Metropolitan area. In the past, members of the band have responded to charitable programs and contributed their talents for organized benefit concerts. They have also performed for various community, veteran, and professional associations as well as many private functions. The band’s live performances contain spontaneity and raw power; along with slow romantic and up-tempo dance songs. Intriguing as this act may seem, the “Sloe Jim” Fizz will truly provide an overall enjoyable and entertaining experience.
